One of the most awaited events of the year will take place on 7-8 October 2017. The National Wine Day marks the secular tradition of winemaking of Moldova. The event will be celebrated in the entire country.
This year is the 16th edition, hosted by the national wine brand” Wine of Moldova. A legend alive”. Wine and vine motifs are deeply rooted in local culture, and are the core features of National Wine Day..
These motifs can be explored in a series of activities such as ”The Wine School”, where visitors can learn the art of appreciating, consuming and serving wines under the guidance of expert sommeliers, or ”The Wine Route” an activity that encourages tourists to discover the winemakers’ secrets by tasting the fruit of their work right on the premises of their wineries.
Guests of the event will interact with more than 40 participating wineries and taste hundreds of wines, visit the artisanal fair, participate in crafts workshops, and take part in numerous cooking masterclasses of local cuisine.
Numerous folk artists will perform on the stage of the festival. This year, the National Wine Day is more environmentally friendly, the organizers are willing to promote a change in people’s attitude towards public spaces, recycling and environmental protection.
The National Wine Day is an official holiday that lasts an entire weekend and it is celebrated all over Moldova. It is that occasion when locals and tourists can discover Moldova’s century-old winemaking traditions.
Every year, on the National Wine Day, the wineries from the Republic of Moldova open their doors and come with special offers for all who want to participate in a various wine tours.
During the National Wine Day 2017, will be organized a touristic info point, which will provide visitors with thematic tours from the heart of the capital to the origins of quality wines from our country: underground galleries, cellars, vineyards, tasting rooms, wine cellars and agro-pensions. The price for a day ticket: 300 MDL, includes the winery tour, tasting of 3 types of wine, unlimited must and free printed photo. Good music and fountain show.
A Street Food Court will be located on the territory of the Castle Mimi. Also in the program:

Workshop for children and adults "Paint your wine" - 150 MDL/ person.
In the evenint the Castle will turn on all the lights and - in a fantastic setting – will organize a big party.
