Vinuri de Comrat – Gagauz Traditions and Premium Wines
Founded in 1895, Vinuri de Comrat is the oldest winery in southern Moldova, located in the autonomous Gagauzia region. With over 120 years of history, the winery combines traditional winemaking passed down through generations with modern technologies to produce internationally acclaimed premium wines.
Visitors can explore the fascinating story of the winery, along with authentic Gagauz traditions, through guided tours and themed tastings. The 1895 restaurant offers a unique culinary experience featuring traditional Gagauz dishes such as shurpa, gozleme, kavurma, and tandir-cooked kebabs.
The winery grounds include a historical museum showcasing Soviet-era artifacts, opportunities for retro-disco events or ethno-folklore performances, and rustic gazebos perfect for relaxation. Guests can also take photos in traditional Gagauz attire.
Vinuri de Comrat cultivates 300 hectares of vineyards with both European and local grape varieties, exporting wines to over 20 countries. In recent years, their wines have earned more than 70 international medals.
Guests can visit the Winery only with prior confirmed reservations. Prices are per person and do not include transport from Chișinău to the winery. Upon request, transportation can be arranged for an additional cost, ensuring a hassle-free journey to the winery.
