The Castle Mimi is located 30 km from Chisinau Airport and is a destination of international interest, unique in Moldova. The Castle Mimi is currently listed among the most beautiful architectural masterpieces in the world of wine. The story of the castle begins in 1893 when Constantin Mimi, the last governor of Bessarabia, planted the first grape vines on the place that would become legend over the years.
The displayed prices do not include transport to the winery, which can be arranged upon request for an extra charge.
In Soviet times, the entire property of Constantin Mimi was nationalized, being hidden from the world. Only in 2010, as part of routine work, workers removed the concrete cladding of building, discovering a true architectural gem. Then it was decided to restore fundamentally the castle, cellars and underground galleries were rediscovered. Castle Mimi is living its second life, 100 years later.
Today the Castle Mimi is a unique destination, whether you are passionate about history and tradition; you wish to admire a unique architectural complex in Moldova; you are planning an event or an important reception; or you plan a trip outside the city to immerse yourself in a wine culture.
Visitors can attend to winery tour, several tasting rooms are available; restaurants, summer terrace with fountain, swimming pool, an outdoor maze, playgrounds for children, Wine Spa and thermal baths. You can enjoy special dishes on the spot. Starting with Autumn 2016 castle Mimi will be offering accommodation in traditional style cottages.
